tour1

We recycle copper wire and parts from electricity meters in our metal workshop.

tour2

Art activity is very popular at SWARA. We've recently run screen printing sessions where people get to design their own shopping bags.

tour3

We've got band practice on Tuesdays afternoons so if you like a bit of peace and quiet remember to bring your ear plugs!

tour4

We've got some great gardens
at SWARA. At the moment we're growing beans, carrots, capiscum, broccolli, parsely, chives, tomatoes, strawberries and pineapples.

Our computer room is always busy and we are very fortunate to have some great volunteers who do one-on-one computer training.

tour6

We do contracts at SWARA. If you work for a company in Brisbane and need help with inserts then call us on (07) 3391 4119.

tour7

Occasionally we all relax and have a bit of a party. It's not every day you get to wear a big green hat so it must be St Patrick's Day.

tour8

We run meal training sessions where people learn how to cook nutritious meals. It's apricot chicken with rice today.

tour9

Our bakery makes delicious biscuits and cakes that you can buy here at SWARA or at our stall on Edward Street.

tour10

Access Arts runs a free drumming workshop at SWARA on Fridays. We also host their outsider artists studio and visual arts workshop.

tour11

We have a small pottery studio at SWARA and we make milk jugs, vases, sugar bowls and saucers. So if your kitchen cupboard is looking a bit threadbare come to SWARA to purchase your dinner set!

tour12

Watch out for low flying aircraft made of balsa wood as we run a model making group.

tour13

We've been hosting quarterly barbeques where we invite community groups from all over Brisbane. If you're interested in coming to our next barbeque call us on (07) 3391 4119.

tour14

We have a relationship with the Queensland Museum where we get to hire out exhibits and have some really interesting talks about Australian fauna. Did you know a group of stingrays is called a fever?

tour15

Our poetry group is very popular and the work of Banjo Paterson is a particular favourite.

tour16

Music & drama plays a central role. We're currently rehearsing for a performance of the musical Grease.

We have a cake and biscuit stall on Edward Street in central Brisbane. It's the ideal place to pop along to if you fancy something delicious for your morning tea.
